Comparison pages default to QuickBooks Online, which is fine unless you specifically want your books on your own machine. In that case Online is not on offer from Intuit at all — new Pro Plus, Premier Plus and Mac Plus subscriptions ended in September 2024. The sole Desktop edition Intuit still sells to new customers is Enterprise, which makes it the genuine like-for-like against Kantivo. The pricing only makes sense once you look at how many people each figure covers.

The top two rows are the whole argument. One seat of QuickBooks Enterprise Silver lands just above what Kantivo Enterprise charges for thirty. Every additional Enterprise user is priced separately, Gold and Platinum stop at 30 concurrent users, and 40 is reachable only on Diamond. Desktop pricing also rose roughly 10% on 1 February 2026, and a per-employee monthly charge now sits on top of the Gold and Platinum subscriptions.
Where Enterprise beats us, stated without hedging: Platinum's Advanced Inventory and Advanced Pricing are properly mature, payroll ships inside the product from Gold upward, and two decades of consultants and add-ons surround the platform. A business running serialised stock or landed cost across several warehouses should evaluate Platinum seriously before evaluating us.
A detail to weigh before signing: the free Accountant Batch Migration Tool Intuit provides — capable of moving 50 client company files into QuickBooks Online at once — excludes Enterprise files entirely. Choosing Enterprise closes that exit for you and for your accountant.

A compact recent file converts fast. A file opened in 2011 with inventory in it takes an afternoon plus a review, and any vendor promising otherwise has never done one.
What does not come across: budgets, memorised transactions and saved invoice templates. Worth knowing before you weigh that against staying — Intuit's own Desktop-to-Online conversion drops those too, plus sales orders, estimates, jobs, payroll history and every attached document, and the import expires 60 days after the online company is created.
