Prefer to skip the install entirely?

We're weighing a hosted edition of Kantivo — books running on our servers with nothing to install, so trying it takes a couple of minutes instead of an installer and a database setup.

This would sit alongside the desktop app, not replace it. We have no intention of following QuickBooks online-only — running Kantivo on your own machine, with your data in your hands, stays a first-class option permanently. One click would pull a hosted company down into the desktop app whenever you preferred to run it yourself.

Windows showing a SmartScreen warning at install?

Kantivo installers are digitally signed via Microsoft's Azure Trusted Signing service. Microsoft is currently working through a known signing-certificate propagation problem that's causing SmartScreen to flag installers from many Azure-signed publishers — including this one — even though the file is properly signed and safe.

To proceed with the install:

1. Click "More info" on the SmartScreen prompt
2. Choose "Run anyway" — your install continues normally

Want to verify the download yourself? Right-click the installer file, choose Properties, and review the Digital Signatures tab. You'll see the publisher listed as "BizBooks LLC" with a Microsoft-verified signature.
